It’s time for June’s Monthly Crafting Book Club installment. My daughter got this book as a present from one of my BFF’s (thanks Jess!) and we love it! It is funny, has girl power, and is quite unpredictable. A favourite of mine to give to visitors to read because they have no idea what they are getting into.
This is the book for this month’s crafting book club, each month we get together with a group of bloggers and make a craft or activity related to a book to help encourage literacy.
We decided to make a shield to go along with the battle scene. My kids love to run around and I knew having shields would make their rough play even more fun for them.
- Paper plates
- Duct tape
- The Princess and the Pony by Kate Beaton
- Take some duct tape and fold it over half way so it is covered on two sides. Using the sticky part that’s on the end attach it to the paper plate then tape down the other end, leaving some room for your loveys to put their hands in.
- You can colour the front of the paper plate, or even glue down paper shapes.
Enjoy playing with your kids or hopefully watching them play together for awhile and give you some time for a coffee!
