Date Night Challenge #2 – Bonfire, Wine & Dreams

This date requires practically no planning if you have wine in the house already.  You may need to be creative if you have no access to a fire pit or fire place, but in that case I am sure candles will suffice.

I am participating in #RFANDateNightChallenge come join me! It's a great easy way to connect Click To Tweet

Date Night Challenge #2 - Everyone needs to reconnect, relax, and enjoy some time together having fun. Here are easy date night challenges to do at home once the kids are asleep.

Idea: Cuddling and future planning by the fire.

Supplies Needed:

  • Warm blanket
  • Pillows
  • Wine (or other if you are not a wine drinker)
  • Fire place (or candles or fireplace channel on TV)

Cuddle up together by the fire with a good beverage and star dreaming up your next vacation together.  Planning for something fun in the future is good for your mental health, it gives you a goal to work towards, something to look forward to and the ability to create a realistic timeline to plan and save.

We had a great time.  It was a lot of fun snuggling up next to the fire for the first fire of the year.  We talked about the possibility of going on vacation this winter.  We have not gone on vacation for awhile so I am really excited about the prospect.  We are debating between Florida and an all-inclusive.  Our kids will be 1 and almost 3, any recommendations?  What do you vote for an all-inclusive resort or Florida?

Let me know if you try this date night challenge #2!  Your challenge this month is to try to do this date, or another one with your partner and let me know how it goes.  Even better if you post it on Instagram #RFANDateNightChallenge

Please comment below with where you and hubby dream about going on vacation to.  Did you have a fire or candles?  What was your beverage of choice?

Ha ha! But ours are so small they couldn’t do much anyway. Is it a tease to go to Disney when you can’t do any rides?? I don’t think they will let infants on 🙁

I love dreaming of places to travel to…my husband and I do that regularly, haha. But I wish I had a fireplace to do it by! What’s this fireplace channel on the tv?? An all inclusive sounds fantastic…and anywhere with a beach when kids are that young seem to always be a hit!
We’re currently dreaming of a summer road trip to a bunch of destinations on the East coast and Canada!

This is such a cute idea, Hil. Even without kids sometimes it’s hard to take the time away from the usual routine to do a “date night,” but with this… all we need is each other. I’ll try to participate on on the next one. Thanks!

This is such a cute idea! I love date nights at home the most, they’re so much more intimate and fun. Unfortunately, it’s already starting to warm up, and it would be too uncomfortable for a fire!
