Date Night #3 – Wrapping and Egg Nog

It is the beginning of the month, time for the third installment in our Date Night Challenge.  Putting time into your relationship to re-connect, de-stress, and have some fun together should be a priority for everyone.  The monthly date night challenges are designed to be super easy and something you can do at home once the kids are in bed.

Date Night Challenge 3 Wrapping and Eggnog - It is imprtant to take some time to spend as a couple over the busy holiday season to relax and re-connect. Try out this easy date night you can do at home once the kiddies are in bed.

Wrapping and Eggnog

Idea:

Do something productive while having a date night!  Turn on a Christmas movie, pour some eggnog, light a fire, and tackle that stack of presents waiting to be wrapped.

Supplies Needed:

  • Christmas Movie
  • Eggnog (with or without booze)
  • Romantic Christmas lights to set the mood (candles, fireplace, Christmas tree, etc.)
  • All the gifts you need to wrap
  • Assortment of wrapping paper
  • Bows, ribbon, accessories
  • Empty boxes of various sizes to use in wrapping (if desired)
  • Tags
  • Scissors and tape

Method:

Get as many presents wrapped as you can handle.  Sip your eggnog, laugh at each other’s wrapping attempts, team up for the hard to wrap things and enjoy a Christmas movie.  Wrapping goes faster in a team anyway, whether it is wrapping a present fully yourself, or splitting up and one person wrapping, one decorating with the ribbons and bows and name labels.  Doing it together is fun!  Also, for us I tend to do the majority of the shopping so this is a good way for him to see the presents we bought.

Results:

We had an awesome time watching movies and got some presents wrapped to boot.

Let me know if you try it.  Your challenge this month is to try to do this date, or another one with your partner and let me know how it goes.

What a great idea. I seriously need to work harder on doing things like this. Date night doesn’t always have to be something big. It could be nice quiet day at home.
